About Me

Hi, I’m Kim — a Cambridge-based photographer who finds creativity, connection, and storytelling through the lens.

Photography is my creative outlet—it’s where I slow down, observe the details, and capture moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed. It’s also how I help others see the beauty in themselves and the world around them. Whether I’m photographing seniors, families, or professionals, my goal is always the same—images that feel genuine, personal, and meaningful.

In addition to my photography work, I help run my husband’s business, Baird’s Artisan Fiberglass and Upholstery. Being involved in a hands-on, detail-driven small business has shaped how I approach my own work — with care, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for quality over quantity.

I’m also actively involved in the local community and work with Cambridge CAP, photographing youth sports and community events throughout the year. Staying connected to the people and places around me is an important part of both my life and my photography.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me gardening, cheering on my kids at their sporting events, or spending time with friends and family. Those everyday moments inspire my work and shape the way I photograph others—with patience, authenticity, and heart.

My approach is relaxed and guided. I want every session to feel comfortable and enjoyable—never stiff or rushed. The result is a thoughtfully curated collection of images that reflect who you are and the season of life you’re in.

If you’re looking for a photographer who will help you feel comfortable, confident, and truly like yourself in front of the camera, I’d love to connect.

Questions & Answers from Kim

How did you get into photography?

Photography has been part of my life in different ways for as long as I can remember. My grandparents gave me my first camera as a kid so I could document our trips around the country together. I stayed involved through 4-H, where I loved photographing the horses and ponies I showed.

As an adult, I found my way back to photography after my son was born, when my husband gifted me my first DSLR camera. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a true passion—and eventually, a business.

How would you describe your photography style?

Natural, personal, and intentional—with a subtle fine art influence. I’m drawn to real moments and honest emotion, while still paying close attention to composition, light, and detail.

What if I feel awkward in front of the camera?

You’re not alone—I’ve been there myself. Being in front of the camera can feel uncomfortable, and that’s a big part of why I care so much about this work. I’ll guide you through the entire session so you feel at ease and walk away with images you genuinely love.

What’s it like to work with you?

Relaxed, guided, and usually filled with a little laughter. I’ll give you direction the entire time, but I also leave space for natural moments to happen so your images never feel stiff or overly posed.

How do you get natural expressions during sessions?

A mix of gentle direction, movement… and probably a few pretty cheesy jokes. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s real reactions.

Be honest… how cheesy are the jokes?

Bad enough to earn an eye roll… but usually followed by a real laugh. I’ll take that over a forced smile any day.

Where do you find inspiration?

In quiet, everyday moments—changing seasons, small-town spaces, and the in-between moments that often go unnoticed. Those are usually the ones that end up meaning the most.

When you’re not behind the camera, what are you doing?

Running a small business, being part of the local community, and cheering on my kids at their sporting events—usually with a camera nearby, even when I don’t mean to have one.

What’s something most people don’t realize about your process?

A lot of intention goes into what looks effortless. From light and composition to leaving room for print crops, every detail is considered so your images not only look beautiful—but work well in real life too.

Photography, for me, is about noticing what others might miss—and preserving it in a way that feels lasting.
